When I came across this idea, I could not wait to get my hands in it (literally, but not literally in this case.) We tend to be a pleasant mix of sarcastic and snarky in our household, so these were right up our alley. Have a childhood bully? A nosey neighbor? A coworker that takes credit for other people’s ideas? THIS is the DIY snack for you! It is time to get sweet, sweet revenge. In the form of a Rice Krispie treat. That looks like ground up raw meat. Need I say more?!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Trays:

4x4” Labels

5x8” Styrofoam trays

Cling wrap

Our handy dandy label template

For the Treats:

5 Tablespoons butter

1 lb mini marshmallows

9 cups Rice Krispies

1 box Red velvet cake mix

1 Red gel food coloring

1 tablespoon corn syrup

1 tablespoon chocolate syrup

Instructions

To make the blood, combine the corn syrup, chocolate syrup and red food coloring until you are happy with the color. Brush and smear the “blood” onto the white trays.

To make the meat, melt butter until browned, then add marshmallows and stir until fully melted.

Pour in box of red velvet cake mix. Stir until well incorporated, then add a few drops of red gel food coloring.

Shut off the heat and mix in the Rice Krispies. Stir until fully coated.

While still warm, place piles of “meat” into your white, foam, blood-covered trays. You will need to move quickly, because as it cools your meat mixture becomes less malleable.

Cover your meat trays tightly with cling wrap and add your labels. Enjoy sharing your yummy, creepy, snarky dessert with the neighbors! Especially if one is meant to be them. Classic burn.
