I’ve loved pink cocktails since my first Shirley Temple at the age of 7. But alas, when I came of age during the nineties, it wasn’t even ironically cool to drink something pink. Sure by the 2000s Carrie Bradshaw had hooked everyone on Cosmopolitans, but I hate cranberry juice and always opted for a dirty martini instead.

PINK FROU FROU DRINKS

Then somewhere along the way, everyone started drinking sweet flavored vodka concoctions. I have to admit that even though it embarresses me, I was a fan. When you are out on the prowl with your girls, who doesn’t want a bunch of strong, easy-to-swig drinks that take you from zero to flirty in a millisecond!?!

Because I’m a lady

But now that I am in my forties, I require something a little more sophisticated to sip at the beginning of an evening out. Or, at least that’s what I tell myself, and this is where the Cherry Blossom Cocktail comes in. Sure it’s pink and sweet, but it features fancy liqueur and looks pretty in a coupe. So no one will be the wiser, if you just want a drink that doesn’t make you pucker up for all the wrong reasons. Enjoy!
